Plant Description:

Picea pungens or Colorado Blue Spruce displays compact bluish silver needles.  This evergreen conifer has a narrow pyramidal growth habit with short stiff horizontal branching.  The Colorado Spruce is drought tolerant once established but has a poor heat tolerance.

Picea glauca ‘Conica’ or Dwarf Alberta Spruce is a dense, compact growing evergreen conifer.  This slow growing plant may eventually reach eight feet tall but stays much narrower.  The bright green needles are small and very tight forming a fuzzy texture.


Picea pungens ‘Fat Albert’ has a broad upright shape and grows ten feet tall and eight feet wide. The small needles are a silvery blue color.
