Plant as a specimen, focal point or border. This is great planted as a four season ornamental tree.

Plant Description: Hawthorn is a small deciduous tree that provides year round interest and reaches a mature size of twenty feet tall and wide.  The leaves are a dark green with a dull green under side.  The leaves provide shades of orange and scarlet during the fall.  White flowers are followed by shiny red berries that often persist through the winter.  Hawthorns are armed with thorns up to three inches in length.


Crataegus phaenopyrum is also known as Washington Hawthorn.


Crataegus reverchonii is native to Texas.
