Plant Description: Eastern Red Cedar is an evergreen pyramidal growing native species of the juniper family.  This native tree can be found from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada. It can withstand drought and is very heat tolerant once established.  The scale like leaves can range in color from dark green to bluish-green. The female plants produce blue berries.  The rough peeling bark is a reddish color.  This tough tree can reach a height of over thirty feet with a width up to twenty feet.
